What this policy covers
This policy explains how we process personal data when you browse this website, email or call us, express interest in volunteering or activities, or use our ticket listings. It does not cover third-party websites you reach through links on our site.
Data we may collect
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number and message content when you get in touch.
- Technical data — browser type, device, approximate location from IP address, and pages visited, where our hosting provider records this for security and performance.
- Consent preference — whether you accepted this privacy notice, stored locally in your browser.
- Ticket purchases — when you buy tickets through UrNextEvent on our Events page, UrNextEvent collects and processes the data needed for checkout. We do not receive your full payment card details.
How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- respond to enquiries and invitations to volunteer or partner;
- run and improve our website and community programmes;
- meet legal, safeguarding and charity governance obligations;
- remember your privacy notice preference on this device.
Our lawful bases under UK GDPR typically include legitimate interests (running the charity and website), consent (where you opt in), and legal obligation where applicable.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses browser local storage to record that you accepted the privacy notice, so the banner does not reappear on every visit. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this website at present.
When you open the Events page, UrNextEvent may set its own cookies or similar technologies for ticket listings and checkout. See UrNextEvent for their privacy information.
Third-party services
We use trusted providers that may process limited data on our behalf or when you interact with embedded content:
- Google Fonts — typography may be loaded from Google; your browser may send a request that includes your IP address.
- UrNextEvent — event listings and ticket sales on our Events page.
- Our web host — serves the site and may log standard server data for security.
How long we keep data
We keep contact enquiries only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards for charity records, unless a longer period is required by law. Your privacy-notice preference stays in your browser until you clear site data.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability where applicable. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
To exercise your rights, email hello@cheerorganisationltd.com.
Children
Our programmes may involve young people, but this website is not directed at children to collect personal data without parental or guardian involvement. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it where appropriate.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Significant changes may be highlighted on the website.
